“Straight Talk” is a new company that is a joint project between Tracfone, Verizon and Walmart. They have joined the huge marketing force of Walmart with the biggest network of cell towers in the US with the very low overhead customers service organization of Tracfone. This is a huge step for Verizon.

Samsung R451c Qwerty Keyboard from Straight Talk
I believe the Verizon Straight Talk deal will lead to major changes in Verizon operations and that it will change the face of cell phone usage in the United States over the next 5 years. I have written more about this change in the basic Verizon Business model.
The New Samsung R451c has a lot of options for a prepaid phone. This is not your father’s Tracfone or Net10. This is a fully usable MP3 player, 1.3 megapixel camera, Qwerty keyboard, slider phone.
The R451c phone will accept a Mini SD card so you can transfer data, pictures, and music from your phone to your computer.
Here is a great Video Review of the Samsung R451c

The new Straight Talk program has two prepay options.
Unlimited for $45 a month
- unlimited minutes
- unlimited text and picture messages
- unlimited data
- unlimited 411 calls
All You Need for $30 a month.
- 1000 minutes
- 1000 texts
- 30 mb of data for
- unlimited 411 calls
1000 Minutes from StraightTalk for $30 a Month
Not Only do you get 1000 minutes of talk but you also get 1,000 text messages per month and 30 Meg of data transfer. If you were using Net10 just for the text messages you would pay $50 a month and $100 a month for the minutes. Yes $30 a month vs $150 for Net10 for the same minutes per month. I have the ability to transpose R451c to R541c and 5410c. This article is about the R451c.

Wow – looks like a great deal. $45 for unlimited minutes on Verizon network. Now, just only have to work on getting myhusband to buy a phone (or anything) from WalMart. Wish me luck!!!!
I actually have this plan and it’s amazing!! I went straight to the $45 plan for all things unlimited and can’t event believe how great it is. The “get everything for one rate” is awesome, but better yet is the service i get, evenin places where ATT can’t get through I never get a dropped call. Case in point, hills of North Carolina – yes, the snow was great, but my husband’s ATT phone was not. My Straigh Talk flip phone, on the other hand, saved the day… and night, all the time! No wonder verizon is the number one network in the nation. The phone & plan is available online, but I much rather go to walmart and get all the other items along with it.

Straight Talk makes EVERY OTHER carrier seem expensive. NET10 is probably aimed at lower usage consumers, and therefor expensive when compared to a high-usage plan like the Straight Talk packages.
But you can compare Straight Talk to ANY of the major carriers and you will find ST beats them all!
It is impossible to find an ‘unlimited everything’ contract for under $90. And most 400-450 minute contracts costs $40 (even before you add the hidden charges).
So both the Straight Talk plans are revolutionary. It just makes no sense whatsoever to sign cell contracts anymore.
